A Message from the President:

The Arc of Orleans County started with six pairs of parents in 1970 and a mission to help peole with special challenges become as independent as possible.

We still do that, but we do so much more now. We help 700 people a year from pre-school to retirement. Education, career counseling, life skills are all part of our daily operation.

And we’ve grown beyond helping just people with developmental disabilities. We provide services to the elderly, education and recreation for children with and without special needs. We help employers, and many of our services help the entire community. In fact, we’re the largest non-profit organization and one of Orleans County’s top 10 employers.

But we can’t do all that without you. Whether through volunteering or donations – or supporting the businesses we support -- you make the difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. The joy brought to the person is the greatest wealth anyone can achieve.

Please help in any way you can. You make it possible for the dedicated professionals working at The Arc to provide the care and services for an entire community. Because Arc is about community.
