Nutri-Fair Senior Nutrition Program
Orleans County is a community – our community. And we’re happy to help our neighbors. That’s why we partnered with the Office for the Aging to operate the Orleans County Nutrition Program.
People 60 and over and their spouses can sit with their friends and neighbors over a delicious, balanced lunch prepared in our kitchens. And they can even take meals home for supper or the weekend. It’s perhaps the best way we can imagine to combat two scourges our elders face: loneliness and poor nutrition.
We offer a variety of activities at each site, including holiday and birthday celebrations, special events and games. And our local partners regularly provide health screenings and programs on interesting topics.
Our meals provide at least a third of the daily Recommended Dietary Allowance and meet the requirements of a 4-gram low-sodium diet. And We can accommodate a reduced-sugar diet, too. In fact, our registered dietician can consult with you to address specific diet problems.
Transportation is available through the Community Action Transportation Service and can be arranged by calling 589-7700 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
Our centers are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch served at noon:
Albion: Monday-Friday, 16 E. Academy St.
Kendall: Wednesday and Friday, Kendall Town Hall, 1873 Kendall Road
