Be Your Own Best Advocate

Make no mistake: As much help and support as we can give you and your loved ones, you will always be the best expert on what you need and want. So we encourage you to advocate for yourself – and we’ll show you how.
The Arc of Orleans offers self-advocacy group meetings for people with developmental disabilities to speak up to protect their rights, see to their responsibilities and discuss the decisions that affect their lives.
Topics can include:
- Interaction with other self-advocate groups.
- Conferences and conventions.
- Fundraisers.
- Outings and other events.
The Self-Advocacy All-Starts Group meets at 5 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at The Arc's main office, 122 Caroline St., Albion, NY 14411.
